    Articulation

If you have a hard time understanding your child when they are speaking, they may have a phonological or articulation disorder. Articulation therapy focuses on helping your child coordinate their lips, tongue, and voice to produce sounds accurately. We use fun and engaging speech targets as well as techniques such as visual feedback and cueing heirarchies to help your child learn each sound from isolation to generalization.

    Language

If your child is experiencing a language delay, has difficulty understanding others, or is non-verbal, they might have a receptive or expressive language disorder. Language therapy addresses a wide range of concerns, including delays, difficulty with grammar, and helping nonverbal children find their own ways to communicate. Depending on your child's age and language needs, we use a play-based approach to help them express both their basic wants and needs as well as their complex thoughts, ideas, and feelings. We focus on a neruoaffirmative approach and use techniques for gestalt language processing, AAC use, and signs to augment verbal communication as needed.

    Fluency

If your child is stuttering when they attempt to talk to others, they may be experiencing a fluency disorder. Fluency therapy focuses on helping your child find confidence in their own voice. With a combination of cargiver counseling and age-appropriate strategies kids can use themselves, we strive to create a safe and comfortable environment for kids that helps them communicate while reducing anxiety and frustration.

Appointment Types

  • Schedule a free phone or video consultation to determine if we’d be a good fit! We’ll discuss your child’s unique needs, your goals, and next steps.

  • Our initial evaluations are approximately 60-90 minutes and help us establish a starting point and goals for therapy. They may include formal testing, interview, and play. After the evaluation is complete, you’ll receive a copy of the report as well as a list of our therapy goals.

  • We’ll work together to achieve your child’s goals! At Field Day Speech Therapy we use a child-directed, play-based approach to help your child thrive. We'll come to you, whether at home, preschool/daycare, or virtually. At the end of each session, we’ll debrief on progress and provide materials to help you keep working between visits.

We provide mobile services and can meet you at your home or your child’s school / daycare. We can also offer virtual visits. We will coordinate with teachers, physicians, and any other service providers to ensure continuity of care and collaboration with your care team.

We currently cover Lake Forest Park, Mountlake Terrace, and Kenmore locations.
